AI 언어 데이터 및 솔루션 기업 플리토는 지난 16일 서울 중구 더 플라자 호텔에서 열린 ‘2026 서울테크서밋 포럼’에 참가해 서울형 R&D 우수 기업 피칭과 AI 통번역 솔루션 시연을 진행했다.
서울형 R&D 성과, 글로벌 사업으로 연결
서울특별시가 주최하고 서울경제진흥원(SBA), 연세대학교가 공동 주관한 이번 행사는 AI와 바이오 분야의 기술사업화와 산·학·연·관 협력을 확대하기 위해 마련됐다. 서울형 R&D 참여 기업 간 교류를 활성화하고 딥테크 혁신 생태계를 강화하는 것도 주요 목적이다.
플리토는 서울형 R&D 우수 기업으로 선정돼 오세훈 서울시장과 산업 관계자들을 대상으로 AI 통번역 기술 개발 성과와 사업 확장 전략을 발표했다.
이정수 플리토 대표는 서울시와 SBA 지원을 바탕으로 중앙대학교 산학협력단과 공동 연구를 수행하며 AI 통번역 기술을 고도화했고, 지원 언어도 동남아시아권까지 확대했다고 소개했다. 이를 기반으로 B2B와 B2C AI 통번역 솔루션을 상용화하며 글로벌 사업 기반을 마련했다고 설명했다.
플리토는 AI 통번역 솔루션이 관광과 의료, 대학, 글로벌 컨퍼런스 등 다양한 산업 현장에서 활용되고 있다는 점도 강조했다.
특히 외국인 관광객 3천만 명 시대를 대비해 호텔과 관광안내소, 의료기관 등 외국인 방문이 많은 공간에 투명 디스플레이 기반 AI 통번역 솔루션을 구축하는 방안을 제안하며 서울시의 글로벌 도시 경쟁력 강화 전략도 함께 제시했다.
행사장에서는 소형 투명 디스플레이를 활용한 AI 통번역 솔루션 시연도 진행됐다. 화면이 이용자 사이를 가리지 않는 인터페이스를 적용해 실제 대화 환경에 가까운 사용 경험을 구현했으며, 관광과 의료, 행사 운영 등 분야별 맞춤형 다국어 서비스를 선보였다.

The extent to which AI technology is utilized in actual industrial settings, beyond just research and development, is emerging as a key indicator of corporate growth. The Seoul Metropolitan Government is also accelerating the expansion of the deep tech ecosystem by discovering successful cases of technology commercialization through public R&D support.
Flitto, an AI language data and solution company, participated in the '2026 Seoul Tech Summit Forum' held at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 16th, and conducted a pitch as an excellent Seoul-type R&D company and a demonstration of its AI interpretation solution.
Connecting Seoul-style R&D Achievements to Global Business
Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and co-organized by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) and Yonsei University, this event was prepared to expand technology commercialization in the fields of AI and bio, as well as cooperation among industry, academia, research institutes, and government. A major objective is also to revitalize exchanges among companies participating in Seoul-type R&D and to strengthen the deep tech innovation ecosystem.
Flitto was selected as an excellent Seoul-type R&D company and presented its AI interpretation technology development achievements and business expansion strategies to Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and industry stakeholders.
Lee Jung-soo, CEO of Flitto, introduced that the company has advanced its AI translation technology and expanded supported languages to include Southeast Asia by conducting joint research with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chung-Ang University, backed by support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA). He explained that based on this foundation, the company has established a basis for global business by commercializing B2B and B2C AI translation solutions.
Flitto also emphasized that its AI translation solutions are being utilized in various industrial fields, including tourism, healthcare, universities, and global conferences.
In particular, in preparation for the era of 30 million foreign tourists, a plan was proposed to establish transparent display-based AI translation solutions in spaces frequently visited by foreigners, such as hotels, tourist information centers, and medical institutions, and a strategy to strengthen Seoul's global city competitiveness was also presented.
A demonstration of an AI interpretation solution utilizing small transparent displays was also held at the venue. By applying an interface where the screen does not obstruct the view between users, it created a user experience close to a real conversational environment, and showcased customized multilingual services for various fields such as tourism, healthcare, and event management.
“Based on the support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the SBA, we have continuously advanced AI interpretation technology so that it can be utilized in actual industrial sites and daily life,” said Lee Jung-soo, CEO of Flitto. “We will strive to expand AI interpretation infrastructure and link it with businesses to enhance Seoul’s global competitiveness in line with the era of 30 million foreign tourists.”

ソウル特別市が主催し、ソウル経済振興院（SBA）、延世大学が共同主管した今回の行事は、AIとバイオ分野の技術事業化と産・学・連・館協力を拡大するために設けられた。ソウル型R&D参加企業間交流を活性化し、ディープテク革新エコシステムを強化することも主な目的だ。
プリトはソウル型R&D優秀企業に選ばれ、オ・セフンソウル市場と産業関係者を対象にAI通訳技術開発成果と事業拡張戦略を発表した。
イ・ジョンスプリト代表はソウル市とSBA支援をもとに中央大学産学協力団と共同研究を行い、AI通訳翻訳技術を高度化し、支援言語も東南アジア圏まで拡大したと紹介した。これを基に、B2BとB2C AI通訳ソリューションを商用化し、グローバル事業基盤を設けたと説明した。
