메타코리아가 디지털리터러시협회(CDL)와 함께 ‘2026 미래교육 심포지엄’을 열고 AI 리터러시 교육의 방향성과 현장 적용 전략을 논의했다.
지난 7일 열린 이번 심포지엄은 ‘미래교육의 새로운 표준, AI 리터러시’를 주제로 진행됐으며, AI 기술 확산에 따른 교육 환경 변화와 글로벌 교육 사례를 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.
메타코리아와 디지털리터러시협회가 공동 주관한 이번 행사는 메타 싱가포르 지원으로 제작된 ‘AI 리터러시’ 백서 발간을 기념해 개최됐다. 해당 백서는 아시아 8개국 11개 기관의 AI 리터러시 교육 사례를 분석한 자료로, 향후 UNESCO와 APEC 등 국제기구 및 글로벌 네트워크를 통해 공유될 예정이다. 미아 갈릭(Mia Garlick) 메타 호주·일본·한국·뉴질랜드·태평양 지역 공공정책 총괄의 환영사를 시작으로 강경숙 국회의원과 최형두 국회의원의 축사, 이한주 대통령 정책특별보좌관의 기조강연, 라운드테이블 및 질의응답 순으로 진행됐다.
AI 시대, 모든 세대 위한 기본 소양 필요
행사에서는 정부·교육기관·산업계 관계자들이 참석해 AI 시대 핵심 역량과 교육 현장 적용 방안, 민·관·학 협력 모델 등에 대한 논의를 이어갔다.
미아 갈릭 메타 총괄은 “한국은 디지털 인프라와 교육 열의, 민·관·학 협력 문화 등을 기반으로 글로벌 AI 리터러시 교육 표준을 제시할 수 있는 국가”라며 “이번 백서가 글로벌 AI 리터러시 논의의 출발점이 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
메타코리아는 향후 디지털리터러시협회와 협력해 교육자와 일반 대중을 대상으로 한 AI 리터러시 교육 프로그램과 학습 자료 개발도 확대할 계획이다.
또한 이번 심포지엄에서 논의된 내용을 바탕으로 글로벌 파트너십을 강화하고, 한국이 AI 리터러시 교육 분야에서 글로벌 표준을 선도할 수 있도록 연구와 교육 프로그램 확산에 나선다는 방침이다.
메타코리아 관계자는 “AI는 특정 산업의 기술을 넘어 모든 세대가 이해하고 활용해야 하는 새로운 기본 소양이 되고 있다”며 “앞으로도 국내 교육기관 및 정책기관과 협력해 누구나 AI 시대를 준비할 수 있는 교육 생태계 조성에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Meta Korea Hosts 'Future Education Symposium'… Discusses Direction of AI Literacy Education
Meta Korea held the '2026 Future Education Symposium' together with the Digital Literacy Association (CDL) and discussed the direction of AI literacy education and strategies for its application in the field.
The symposium, held on the 7th, was conducted under the theme of 'AI Literacy, the New Standard for Future Education' and was organized to share changes in the educational environment due to the spread of AI technology and global educational cases.
Co-hosted by Meta Korea and the Digital Literacy Association , this event was held to commemorate the publication of the 'AI Literacy' white paper, produced with the support of Meta Singapore. The white paper analyzes AI literacy education cases from 11 institutions across eight Asian countries and is scheduled to be shared through international organizations such as UNESCO and APEC , as well as global networks. The event began with a welcome address by Mia Garlick, Meta’s Head of Public Policy for Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and the Pacific; followed by congratulatory remarks from National Assembly members Kang Kyung-sook and Choi Hyung-doo; a keynote speech by Lee Han-joo, Special Advisor to the President for Policy; and concluded with a roundtable discussion and Q&A session.
In the AI Era, Basic Literacy is Needed for All Generations
At the event, officials from the government, educational institutions, and industry participated in discussions on core competencies for the AI era, application methods in educational settings, and cooperation models among the public, private, and academic sectors.
Mia Garlic Mehta, General Manager, said, “Korea is a country capable of setting global standards for AI literacy education based on its digital infrastructure, enthusiasm for education, and culture of cooperation among the public, private, and academic sectors,” adding, “I hope this white paper will serve as a starting point for global discussions on AI literacy.”
Meta Korea plans to expand the development of AI literacy education programs and learning materials for educators and the general public in cooperation with the Digital Literacy Association in the future.
In addition, based on the discussions at this symposium, the plan is to strengthen global partnerships and expand research and education programs so that Korea can lead global standards in the field of AI literacy education.
A Meta Korea official stated, “AI is transcending being a technology for specific industries and becoming a new fundamental skill that all generations must understand and utilize,” adding, “We will continue to cooperate with domestic educational and policy institutions to contribute to creating an educational ecosystem where anyone can prepare for the AI era.”

また今回のシンポジウムで議論された内容をもとにグローバルパートナーシップを強化し、韓国がAIリテラシー教育分野でグローバル標準を先導できるように研究と教育プログラムの拡散に乗り出すという方針だ。

Meta Korea a organisé le « Symposium sur l'éducation du futur 2026 » en collaboration avec la Digital Literacy Association (CDL) et a discuté de l'orientation de l'éducation à l'IA et des stratégies pour son application sur le terrain.
Le symposium, qui s'est tenu le 7, avait pour thème « La culture IA, la nouvelle norme pour l'éducation future » et visait à partager les changements survenus dans l'environnement éducatif suite à la diffusion de la technologie de l'IA et à présenter des exemples concrets d'éducation à l'échelle mondiale.
Organisé conjointement par Meta Korea et la Digital Literacy Association , cet événement a eu lieu pour commémorer la publication du livre blanc « Culture de l’IA », réalisé avec le soutien de Meta Singapore. Ce livre blanc analyse des exemples de formation à la culture de l’IA dans 11 établissements répartis dans huit pays asiatiques et sera diffusé par des organisations internationales telles que l’UNESCO et l’APEC , ainsi que par des réseaux mondiaux. L’événement a débuté par un discours de bienvenue de Mia Garlick, responsable des politiques publiques de Meta pour l’Australie, le Japon, la Corée, la Nouvelle-Zélande et le Pacifique ; suivi des félicitations des députés Kang Kyung-sook et Choi Hyung-doo ; d’une allocution de Lee Han-joo, conseillère spéciale du président pour les politiques publiques ; et s’est conclu par une table ronde et une séance de questions-réponses.

Lors de cet événement, des représentants du gouvernement, des établissements d'enseignement et de l'industrie ont participé à des discussions sur les compétences clés pour l'ère de l'IA, les méthodes d'application dans le contexte éducatif et les modèles de coopération entre les secteurs public, privé et universitaire.
Mia Garlic Mehta, directrice générale, a déclaré : « La Corée est un pays capable d'établir des normes mondiales en matière d'éducation à l'intelligence artificielle grâce à son infrastructure numérique, son enthousiasme pour l'éducation et sa culture de coopération entre les secteurs public, privé et universitaire », ajoutant : « J'espère que ce livre blanc servira de point de départ à des discussions mondiales sur l'éducation à l'intelligence artificielle. »
Meta Korea prévoit d'étendre à l'avenir, en coopération avec la Digital Literacy Association, le développement de programmes d'éducation à l'intelligence artificielle et de supports pédagogiques destinés aux enseignants et au grand public.
En outre, sur la base des discussions tenues lors de ce symposium, le plan consiste à renforcer les partenariats mondiaux et à étendre les programmes de recherche et d'éducation afin que la Corée puisse devenir un chef de file mondial en matière d'éducation à l'intelligence artificielle.
