Latest LIVE updates

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has launched, and it's glorious. But the real challenge isn't saving Hyrule as Link; it's finding a restock of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Restocks are rolling out — Target and Nintendo recently dropped fresh chances to grab the hard-to-find console — and with Nintendo promising more stock is on the way, I'm bringing you the latest stock updates.

As of now, there is no Zelda Switch 2 restock available. However, multiple retailers are prioritizing in-store restocks (Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop), so if you can, be sure to check your nearest locations.

I've been covering pre-order events and restocks at Tom's Guide for more than five years, and know how to secure in-demand items. Below are all the links you need, alongside live updates on Zelda Switch 2 restocks.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been remade for the Nintendo Switch 2. One of the N64's most beloved games has been completely overhauled to celebrate the franchise's 40th Anniversary. The remake offers truly stunning visuals with 4K graphics, overhauled controls, and reworked puzzles.

Zelda Switch 2 — U.K. restock

about us Rory Mellon

I'm a Senior Entertainment Editor at Tom's Guide and a more recent convert to The Legend of Zelda series. Breath of the Wild on Switch 1 was my first Zelda experience, and I can't wait to finally play Ocarina of Time.

Full retailer sweep

Nintendo Switch 2

I've been checking all the retailers every so often, but I've just done a full retailer sweep to see what's available.

A whole lot of nearly nothing.

The one place I was able to see was on Target. There's a button that will show you stores with stock near you. For me, it was one store with one console in stock about 10 miles away.

If you have gas in the car and a minute, this might be the way to get your special Switch 2.

Ocarina of Time foil cover appears to be out of stock

If you didn't know there are two versions of the cover art for the Ocarina of Time remake. One with foil texture and one without.

Apparently, the retails have all swapped out the foil cover on their listings for the standard edition.

You may get lucky if you try your luck in-store, but online it appears out of stock.

Pro controller might be available at GameStop

GameStop store

GameStop is showing the Zelda console as out of stock but the Pro Controller might still be available. However, the retailer has been pushing in-store so you won't be able to get it on the website.

I called my local GameStop and they were out of stock, but you might have better luck with your closest store.

Walmart seems to have the controller

Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro controller

I just did a sweep through the retailers, and it looks like the only thing available is the 40th anniversary Pro Controller for $213.99 at Walmart, which is double the normal $99 price, but cheaper than what I'm seeing on Best Buy (showing as sold out).

All quiet on the restock front right now!

Nothing to report at present, Target has now returned to "sold out", though perhaps we'll see a third restock later today, meanwhile no signs of any stock at Walmart so the rumors are unfortunately looking increasingly unlikely. In-store remains your chance to find a Zelda Switch 2, so if you live locally to a retailer, it's worth trying your luck. Meanwhile, my day is winding down, but I'll be handing over to a colleague shortly, to make sure you don't miss any restocks.

Target stock is running dry!

Quick update on the Target situation, I'm no longer seeing the "add to cart" button, but it does direct me to "show in-store stock" with at least one location popping up claiming to have stock nearby. It would seem all the online inventory has been snapped up, but I would still recommend checking for now, you could get lucky. And Target has restocked online twice now, could it go for a third?

2026-11-06T15:18:13.647Z

Target is back IN STOCK!

I didn't see this one coming, but the "add to cart" button has just returned on Target, so get over there and see if you can secure a Zelda Switch 2 as it looks like stock is returning at the retailer!

2026-11-06T15:01:06.655Z

Help us Walmart, you're our only hope!

All eyes are on Walmart at present, there are rumors flying around they will restock the Zelda Switch 2 today, but so far nothing. Remember, as I keep saying, there's no confirmation here, but restock rumors often prove to have some truth to them, so fingers firmly crossed the noise around Walmart amounts to a drop.

Target's restock appears to have ended!

Well, after about an hour, I'm not seeing any signs of available stock at Target, even with a lot of refreshes, so I feel pretty confident saying the retailer is once again sold out. Hopefully you were able to grab one in this latest Zelda Switch 2 restock. If not, don't worry, I'm still here tracking stock levels across retailers. Remember, Walmart is rumored to drop next.

This is not a drill, Target has restocked online!

Target listing page for the Zelda Switch 2 console

Target was the big one today, and after restocking in the very early morning hours, I wondered if that would be the retailer sold out again, but a second restock has appeared online. The console is going to sell out fast, so get over there, and even if you get a "sold out" message at first, keep trying, as more stock could appear.

Last night after a busy day of restock tracking, I finally got to sink my teeth into The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and while I'm very early in my quest, my first impressions are that it's a glorious remake.

Our reviewer, Anthony Spadafora, had a similar experience, calling it "even better than my childhood memories." You can read his full Ocarina of Time review if you're looking to fill some time until we have more restock news to bring you.

Walmart is the one to watch today!

Walmart Plus

Rumors have been flying around this week that Walmart could restock the Zelda Switch 2 from November 6 (aka today). This is based on an unverified leak of an internal document suggesting that the national retailer was gearing up for a restock. Again, this is all unconfirmed, but it's the retailer to watch right now, and it has already this week restocked in-store, so could an online drop follow today?

Try your luck in-store at Target!

Target stock checker for the Zelda Switch 2 console

One of the big themes this week has been retailers opting for in-store restocks rather than dropping stock online.

I've just checked some local Target stores, and the retailer's online tracker is telling me there is Zelda Switch 2's available at nearby locations. However it's very limited ("only 1 left"), and these in-store stock trackers aren't always updated in realtime, so even if it tells you there's stock there's no guarantees.

Still, if you've got your heart set on securing a Zelda Switch 2, and have a Target store within reasonable distance (I wouldn't recommend a lengthy roadtrip), then getting down to your nearest location might be your best chance of getting one.

Target's online restock update!

Limited Editon Zelda Switch 2 console

It looks like Target opted for a late-night online restock based on what I've seen on social media, so if you're still on the hunt for a Zelda Switch 2, that's the place to check now. But I'm seeing conflicting reports, with some users claiming that no stock was available, so I'll keep watching the retailer for signs of more stock.

2026-11-06T09:21:39.959Z

Good morning, let's get back to restock tracking!

Good morning! Rory here, it's a new day, and I'm back online to track Zelda Switch 2 restock across retailers. Today (Nov. 6) is set to be a big day with at least one online restock confirmed at Target, and there could be more on the way, too.

Amazon Ocarina pre-orders delayed

I've seen a few reports indicating that Amazon is suddenly delaying Ocarina of Time pre-orders by nearly a week.

To put it mildly, people are not happy.

Did you pre-order through Amazon? Are you seeing delays on delivery? Let me know in the comments or send me an email.

Zelda console has disappeared from Walmart

Walmart Plus

Our link to the Zelda console is broken and no longer goes to a page for the special edition Switch 2.

I tried searching for the console on the Walmart and nothing shows up. I tried links on other sites which now redirect to the Ocarina of Time remake.

I'll keep an eye on things but for now Walmart has vanished the 40th anniversary console and pro controller from its website.

2026-11-05T20:14:49.023Z

Forget consoles, what about controllers?

The console have been sold out for a minute with no real restock coming in.

I decided to check out the Pro controllers just in case any of those were available instead.

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing it available anywhere. But I'll keep looking in case it pops up.

There's a textured foil version and a normal. You'll know which you have if the spine lettering is gold (foil) or white (normal).

As of this posting here is what different retailers are offering.

A quick UK check

The main UK retailers have been out of stock for most of the day, but I checked again just in case anyone is trying to get one before dinner.

Of the retailers I checked, Argos might have some but you'll need to put in your postal code to check. I tried several London codes and Bradford just to see but all those locations were out of stock.

Reminder: Target stock drops tomorrow (Nov. 6)

Target store sign

We mentioned it above but as a reminder, if Target is your preferred or closest retailer, the company does not have stock today.

However, Target previously confirmed that it will open up sales on Friday (November 6).

That being said, I found claims on Reddit that some stores were selling the consoles today. It seems like those sold out quickly though.

Official Ocarina - sold out

Nintendo is selling an official playable Ocarina from the Ocarina of Time remake for $34.99. From my understanding it actually works.

Unfortunately, it's already sold out, but I'll keep an eye on things in case it pops back up.

Retailer sweep

Unboxing the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console

Stock is not lasting long. I just posted about the official Nintendo Store twenty minutes ago and the Zelda console is already sold out.

With that in mind, lets take a look at all the retailers right now.

It should be noted that GameStop is in-store only. I checked in my area and was told that no store within 100 miles had stock. You might get luckier.

Also, Walmart features third-party sellers so you might see some availability but they're also gouging the price all the way up to $700. I recommend you avoid those.

Hopefully you managed to secure a Zelda Pro controller if that was on your wishlist during the Walmart restock. On my end the retailer is now once again showing the dreaded "sold out" message. I'm already watching for more restocks!

Target (re)confirms Zelda Switch 2 restock this week!

Target listing page for the Zelda Switch 2 console

Last week, Target confirmed it would restock the Zelda Switch 2 console on Friday, November 6 via an update on its listing page, before removing said update, leading to fears the restock had been delayed. Good news! The message has returned, Target will restock tomorrow (Nov. 6), and on the same day it will also restock the console in-store. So you can try both at your nearest Target and online.

Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller IN STOCK at Walmart!

It's not the console, but you can pick up the Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller at Walmart. The page already has a "low stock" warning though, so don't expect it to stick around long. If you want this nifty Switch 2 accessory, go grab it now.

A surprising Ocarina of Time deal for UK gamers!

legend of zelda ocarina of time remake

If you're in the U.K. and haven't picked up your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time yet, you can currently grab it for £54 on Amazon. That's a £5 saving. Not a huge discount, but any form of deal on a new release is pretty rare!

Sadly, on Amazon US, the game is listed at its standard $69 MSRP. In fact, it appears Ocarina is so popular that Amazon is having stock issues, with new orders not expected to arrive until November 12-13. So you might want to get it digitally.

What's your favorite Zelda game?

Still nothing new to report on the restock front, so to pass the time, let me know your favorite The Legend of Zelda game in the above poll! I'd personally pick Breath of the Wild, but there are several classic Zelda games I still need to play.

Your best chance of getting a Zelda Switch 2 (probably) isn't online!

Unboxing the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console

With the U.S. starting to wake up, it's worth noting that the best chance of securing a Zelda Switch 2 today appears to be in-store rather than online. We know that Target, Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop have had in-store restock, though social media suggests the majority of inventory was snapped up during various midnight launch events. However, if you live local to a retailer, and don't mind taking the chance, you'll want to head over in person and try your luck!

Nothing to report at present!

Unboxing the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console

Not much of an update here, but the currently situation is there's nothing to report. I've just done my latest retailer swept and I don't see stock in either the U.S. or U.K., the Zelda Switch 2 remains sold out pretty much everywhere (unless you're willing to pay a huge markup to a scalper). I'll keep checking, of course, and let's hope that as the U.S. starts to wake up we see more activity.

Is Ocarina of Time remake worth the hype?

Link riding in Epona in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

While we're waiting for (hopefully) more Zelda Switch 2 restocks, why not check out our Ocarina of Time review? Our reviewer was super impressed with the game, saying, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a joy to revisit from start to finish thanks to its gorgeous 4K visuals, full orchestral score, and slick modern controls," and awarding it an "Editor's Choice." So I guess it was worth the wait!

Target confirms an online restock...or did it?

Target listing page for Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda Edition

At present, the only confirmation of an online Zelda Switch 2 restock comes from Target. Last week the retailer updated its listing page confirming more stock in-store today (Nov. 5) and online to follow tomorrow (Nov. 6). But, here's the wrinkle, this messaging, which you can see in my screenshot above, has since been removed. Does this mean that Target won't have online restock on Friday. We'll have to wait to find out. But for now, I still think Target is the retailer to watch.

In-store midnight launch events offered restock!

Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake screenshot from the Zelda Direct

In a welcome throwback, loads of retailers, including Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop (as well as Argo in the U.K.) held midnight launch events for Zelda: Ocarina of Time last night. Looking at my social feeds it seemed many locations also had stock of the Zelda Switch 2 console at these events. This could mean that retailers are fresh out of stock, but I'm hoping these in-store drops will be followed by fresh chances to secure a console (and a Pro controller) online later today.
