A large office complex in Waltham was evacuated Monday afternoon following a gas leak in the area, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to 1601 Trapelo Road around 1:30 p.m. for reports of a gas main leak, fire department Lieutenant Mike Murphy said.
No injuries have been reported, he said.
The sprawling Reservoir Place complex, which spans more than 520,000 square feet, was completely evacuated, Murphy said.
The address includes the corporate headquarters for Welch Foods, and various software and insurance companies. In June, Boston Dynamics announced the complex will become the site of an advanced robotics and AI center.
Seven fire companies are currently on the scene, plus a medic unit to monitor conditions, Murphy said. The facility’s gas company has also been notified of the incident, he said.
Christine Milligan, a spokesperson for National Grid, confirmed that a gas leak occurred at the site when a “third-party” was digging in the area and struck the company’s gas line.
The leak has interrupted service for two customers in the complex, Milligan said, and National Grid crews remain on scene making repairs.
Milligan said some employees were allowed to return to the complex during the afternoon.
BXP, which owns the complex, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
