The GOP is not just a clown show. It’s a fascist cult that pursues cruel and inhumane policies, lacking even a hint of empathy, intellectual curiosity, and charity toward their fellow Americans. 

It’s what happens when a political movement is run by the dumbest people imaginable, actively rejecting any data or facts that intrude into their narrow and artificial worldview. And this week’s top stories all reflect on the hapless circus that is President Donald Trump’s MAGA party. 

I mean, what has the world come to when former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene becomes a voice of reason inside the conservative movement? 

But the midterm elections aren’t far behind in readers’ minds. Key election stories continue to do well. 

Democrats are well on their way to historic victories this November, and there’s little Republicans can do about it because that would require admitting that Trump has screwed everything up. So they have to pretend that things are great and, like Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, argue that nothing will change if Republicans win. 

That last link above? That’s a former Mitch McConnell staffer, and his advice to Trump is to stop being Trump, just for a month, and then he can go back on his revenge and name-everything-after-himself kick. Read it. It’s unbelievable how soulless these Republicans are. 

But Democrats have to be ready to govern after they win, and this advice to them is critically important:
