“폭증하는 글로벌 AI 연산 수요를 감당하기 위해서는 데이터센터의 신속한 구축과 압도적인 운영 효율성이 무엇보다 중요합니다.”
김재원 엘리스그룹 대표는 30일 서울 여의도 CCMM에서 열린 코스닥 상장 기자간담회에서 이같이 말했다. 엘리스그룹은 공모자금을 권역별 엣지 AI 데이터센터(AIDC) 구축과 해외 사업에 쓸 계획이다.
엘리스그룹은 2015년 AI 교육 실습 솔루션으로 출발해 그래픽처리장치(GPU) 클라우드와 데이터센터 운영으로 사업을 넓혔다. 현재 사업은 AI 클라우드와 AX(AI 전환) 두 부문으로 나뉜다. 김 대표에 따르면 외부 클라우드 판매를 시작한 2023년 전체 매출의 7%였던 클라우드 비중은 올해 상반기 76%로 올랐다.
이날 엘리스그룹이 가장 앞세운 것은 모듈형 AI 데이터센터 ‘AI PMDC’다. 외부에서 설비 모듈을 만드는 동안 현장에서는 부지와 전력, IT 장비를 준비한다. 회사 측은 두 작업을 동시에 진행해 통상 24~36개월 걸리던 구축 기간을 3개월 이내로 줄였다고 설명했다. 초기 인프라 구축 비용(TCO)은 최대 40% 낮췄다. 첫 PMDC는 2022년 가동했고 지난해 수랭식 냉각 설비를 들였다.

올해 상반기 연결 기준 매출액은 344억원, 영업이익은 103억원이다. 반기 만에 지난해 연간 매출액의 87%를 채웠다. 상각전영업이익(EBITDA)은 232억원으로 매출 대비 68%다.
클라우드 고객은 약 1200곳이다. 김 대표는 AX 사업을 합친 유료 기관이 2000곳을 넘는다고 밝혔다. 신규 고객과 논의하는 계약 기간은 지난해 최대 1년에서 최근 3~5년으로 늘었다고 설명했다.
상장 후 새 데이터센터는 전력 수전 여력이 남은 비수도권에 짓는다. 엘리스그룹은 수도권 운영 거점 외에 서남권 40MW, 동남권 80MW 부지를 확보했다. 서남권은 올해 말까지 구축하고 동남권은 내년 공급이 목표다.
해외에서는 두 방식을 병행한다. 하나는 국내 데이터센터의 GPU를 해외 고객이 원격으로 쓰는 방식이다. 김 대표는 이를 ‘가상 원격 수출’이라고 부르며 내년 상반기부터 관련 매출이 발생할 것으로 내다봤다. 다른 하나는 PMDC 모듈을 현지로 보내 설치하는 방식이다. 거점은 미국과 일본, 싱가포르다.
김 대표는 공모자금으로 “권역별 엣지 AIDC를 확충해 국내 전력 병목 현상을 해소하는 것은 물론 글로벌 시장을 향한 맞춤형 AI PMDC 및 AI 연산 자원 수출을 가속화”하겠다고 밝혔다.
엘리스그룹은 이번 IPO에서 222만2000주를 전량 신주로 공모한다. 희망 공모가는 7만400~9만500원, 총 공모 예정 금액은 1564억~2011억원이다. 상장 후 예상 시가총액은 7821억~1조54억원이다.
지난 23일 시작한 기관투자자 수요예측은 다음 달 1일 끝난다. 7~8일 일반 청약을 거쳐 10월 중 코스닥시장에 상장한다. 대표 주관사는 미래에셋증권, 공동주관사는 삼성증권이다.

Elice Group started in 2015 with AI education and training solutions and expanded its business into Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) cloud and data center operations. Currently, the business is divided into two sectors: AI Cloud and AX (AI Transformation). According to CEO Kim, the proportion of cloud revenue, which was 7% of total sales in 2023 when external cloud sales began, rose to 76% in the first half of this year.
The flagship product of Elice Group on this day was its modular AI data center, 'AI PMDC'. While facility modules are manufactured externally, the site, power supply, and IT equipment are prepared on-site. The company explained that by carrying out these two tasks simultaneously, it reduced the construction period—which typically takes 24 to 36 months—to within three months. It also lowered the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by up to 40%. The first PMDC began operations in 2022, and water-cooling facilities were installed last year.
The company developed its own GPU operating software, 'ECI'. It is a solution that virtualizes GPUs to allow multiple customers to share computing resources. The company stated that the performance loss (overhead) resulting from the virtualization process is less than 1%.
Elice Group became the first in Korea to receive Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) certification under the Cloud Service Security Certification (CSAP) according to PMDC standards. It secured public sector projects by installing fully closed-network-based infrastructure within client premises. The next target markets are finance and defense.
Cloud revenue grows to 76%… Expanding to non-metropolitan AIDC and overseas markets
In the first half of this year, consolidated revenue was 34.4 billion won and operating profit was 10.3 billion won. In just half a year, the company reached 87% of last year's annual revenue. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) was 23.2 billion won, representing 68% of revenue.
There are approximately 1,200 cloud customers. CEO Kim stated that the number of paid institutions, including the AX business, exceeds 2,000. He explained that the contract period discussed with new customers has recently increased from a maximum of one year last year to three to five years.
After listing, new data centers will be built in non-metropolitan areas where there is remaining power supply capacity. In addition to its operating base in the metropolitan area, Elice Group has secured sites for 40 MW in the Southwest region and 80 MW in the Southeast region. The goal is to complete construction in the Southwest region by the end of this year and supply the Southeast region next year.
Overseas, both methods are employed in parallel. One involves overseas customers remotely utilizing GPUs from domestic data centers. CEO Kim refers to this as "virtual remote export" and anticipates that related revenue will begin to be generated in the first half of next year. The other method involves sending PMDC modules to the site for installation. The bases for this are the United States, Japan, and Singapore.
CEO Kim stated that with the funds raised through the public offering, they would “expand regional edge AIDCs to resolve domestic power bottlenecks, as well as accelerate the export of customized AI PMDCs and AI computing resources to the global market.”
Ellis Group is offering 2,222,000 shares as entirely new shares in this IPO. The target offering price is 70,400 to 90,500 won, and the total expected offering amount is 156.4 billion to 201.1 billion won. The estimated market capitalization after listing is 782.1 billion to 1.0054 trillion won.
The demand forecast for institutional investors, which began on the 23rd, concludes on the 1st of next month. Following a public subscription on the 7th and 8th, the company will be listed on the KOSDAQ market in October. 海外では二つの方式を並行する。一つは、国内データセンターのGPUを海外の顧客がリモートで使う方式だ。金代表はこれを「仮想遠隔輸出」と呼び、来年上半期から関連売上が発生すると予想した。もう1つは、PMDCモジュールをローカルに送信してインストールする方法です。拠点はアメリカと日本、シンガポールだ。
キム代表は公募資金で「圏域別エッジAIDCを拡充し、国内電力ボトルネックを解消することはもちろん、グローバル市場に向けたカスタマイズ型AI PMDCおよびAI演算資源輸出を加速化する」と明らかにした。

À l'international, les deux méthodes sont employées en parallèle. La première permet aux clients étrangers d'utiliser à distance des GPU hébergés dans des centres de données nationaux. Le PDG, M. Kim, qualifie ce procédé d'« exportation virtuelle à distance » et prévoit que les premiers revenus générés par cette méthode seront disponibles dès le premier semestre de l'année prochaine. La seconde méthode consiste à envoyer des modules PMDC sur site pour installation. Ces modules sont basés aux États-Unis, au Japon et à Singapour.
Le PDG Kim a déclaré qu'avec les fonds levés grâce à l'offre publique, ils allaient « étendre les centres de données d'IA régionaux pour résoudre les problèmes d'approvisionnement énergétique national, et accélérer l'exportation de centres de données d'IA privés personnalisés et de ressources informatiques d'IA vers le marché mondial ».
